Arts Academy
Pyramid Arts Academy launches in 2006
Pyramid, Warrington’s Centre for the Arts, is launching the Arts Academy in a move to offer structured training in arts and create a prestigious centre for the study of drama, dance and music in Warrington. The Arts Academy is designed for 8 - 18 year-olds interested in developing skills in their favourite art form and, as well as providing local children and teenagers with an outlet for their endless energy, it offers a great first step to a creative career. The Academy will officially launch on Monday 9 January 06 between 6pm and 8pm during which Pyramid staff will answer all questions, anyone will be able to try the classes for free and all future students will be able to enrol. The first Arts Academy term will resume on Monday 16 January 06 and incorporate three classes - the highly popular Pyramid Youth Theatre, Music Academy and Youth Break Dance - with a view to expand the range according to demand. By attending the Academy classes students aged 14-18 will gain formal recognition for their efforts through The Access Organisation Initiative, which counts towards The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Other benefits of attending include staging own shows, making new friends and keeping active. The Arts Academy classes will be run by professional tutors and supervised by Pyramid development officers. Each class will take place once a week in the evening between Monday and Friday. On the night of the launch all students who have subscribed to the Academy and paid the £45 term fee will receive a welcome pack comprising of an Arts Academy T-shirt and an Arts Academy water bottle. The terms will run alongside Pyramid & Parr Hall seasons and last approximately four months. They will correspond with school terms and holidays. So, if you are into your music, dance or drama, visit Pyramid on the Arts Academy opening night or ring the box office on 01925 442345 to book your place now.
