Houghton Weavers bring their 40th Anniversary Tour to Warrington
On the eve of their 40th anniversary, the UK’s leading comedy / folk group – The Houghton Weavers – return to Warrington’s Parr Hall on Sunday 6 December.
Comprising of Tony Berry, David Littler and Steve Millington, the band have recorded over 30 albums, have seven of their own BBC television series and six BBC Radio 2 series to their name.
Formed in 1975 and cutting their teeth in the folk clubs of their native Lancashire, The Houghton Weavers have never wavered from their motto of ‘Keep Folk Smiling’.
The group, who have a thriving fan club with members worldwide, entertain their audiences with humorous jokes and antidotes and sing “popular” folk songs from raucous traditional songs to beautiful ballads done in their own inimitable style.
This year they will once again be joined on stage by Tony’s brother James who proved to be a hit with the group’s festive audiences last year.
