The Lights in the Sky Laser performance attracted more than 3,000 spectators spanning generations.
Laser light patterns illuminated the skyline above Warrington’s Guardians, reflecting within the water fountain below, and were set to a soundtrack of battling intergalactic spaceships and the eerie unexplainable sounds of space.
This year’s stunning light display was funded by Warrington Borough Council, delivered by Culture Warrington and was part of Warrington Market’s sci-fi Christmas- a traditional Christmas Market with an intergalactic twist.
There are a multitude of Christmas events across Warrington being provided by the council and Culture Warrington this festive season. Stand-out events include the Lantern Parade, Warrington Christmas Markets and Parr Hall’s pantomime Dick Whittington.
Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Events for the Christmas programme have been carefully selected to provide opportunities to support the council’s wider objectives and compliment other events that are taking place. Our aim is to provide exciting and enjoyable events that attract more residents and visitors to the town which will boost the local economy. The challenge is to have the maximum impact with limited resources and we hope we are achieving this with our festive events.”
