widnesflashpantoMusic and dancing were on the menu at a busy Widnes restaurant this week after a pantomime flashmob left diners shocked and surprised.

Cast members from Parr Hall’s upcoming production of Dick Whittington burst into Pesto restaurant on Birchfield Road on Tuesday evening taking the restaurant by surprise by spontaneously breaking into song and entertaining unsuspecting customers.

Dressed in full costume, characters including Dick Whittington, played by Rebecca Draper who has just finished filming ITV’s Stand by Your Man, Liverpool born Ellie Carroll who stars as Alice in this version of the classic tale and this year’s villain, King Rat, played by David Kustard performed a number of routines entertaining the families present including the Frozen classic ‘Let It Go’.

Manager of Pesto Gizela Kalkucka commented: “The flashmob was incredibly entertaining for both our staff and diners – especially for the little ones that were in the restaurant – and was a great way to add even more festive fun into our restaurant on Tuesday evening.”

alicewidnes2Producer of this year’s pantomime Tony Peers said: “Pantomime is all about entertaining the whole family so we’re thrilled that the Pesto team gave us the opportunity to bring one of Warrington’s biggest pantomimes out into the community and have some fun together.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and not only did we have a great time but Pesto’s customers also really seemed to enjoy our little pop-up panto performance!”

The family show is set to open at Parr Hall in Warrington on Saturday 2nd January.
