Warrington to hold its first ever comedy extravaganza
Culture Warrington are set to hold their first ever celebration of comedy this March, filled with unforgettable one-liners and guaranteed giggles from some of the most popular comedians in the country.
Ed Byrne will headline the comedy extravaganza with a range of other performances and workshops to be held at Pyramid & Parr Hall as part of the month-long celebration.
To kick off the festival some of the funniest up-and-coming talents will be trying out their best jokes as Comedy Store returns to Pyramid on Saturday 5 March. This show has built a reputation for hilarious and unforgettable nights out, so it makes the perfect beginning to the comedy season.
Audiences will fall under the spell of Ed Byrne’s Irish charm and undeniable wit, as he graces the stage of the legendary Parr Hall on Friday 11 March. His ‘Outside, Looking In’ show has toured the entire country – collecting rave reviews along the way – and now it is Warrington’s turn.
Children also have the chance to get in on the comedy action as Comedy Club 4 Kids brings some of the funniest stand-up comedians from around the globe to the town to do what they do best in front of an audience of children and their families. Everyone from six to 400 years old is welcome to the event on Saturday 19 March, as they tell all the best jokes, just without the rude bits.
As part of the season, Pyramid will also be hosting a screening of the best-loved comedy film Some Like It Hot, in the relaxing environment of the Studio Theatre. The all-time outrageous, satirical comedy is one of the most hilarious films ever made.
To round off the season with a bang, Parr Hall will be welcoming a whole host of the funniest comedians around on Thursday 24 March for Who Dares Grins Comedy Night Live, which promises to be a fantastic night. From Craig Murray, Gary Delaney, Kerry Godlima and Terry Alderton, some of the brightest names in the stand-up circuit will bring non-stop laughter to Warrington.
Chris Persoglio, Venue and Events Manager at Culture Warrington, said:
