Touch Of Evil – Cert 12A
Considered the final film noir in this classical period and one of the most stylistic and unconventional films it features a heavy-weight cast and sees Orson Welles starring and directing.
Set on the border between Mexico and the US, a Mexican narcotics police officer is embarking on his honeymoon with American wife Susan in the border town of Los Robles when he witnesses the explosion of a car which has just driven across the border.
Paint It Black: Film Noir exhibition and Film Screenings
Local photographer, Paul Jackson of Unit 8 Photography, is producing a touring Film Noir inspired photographic exhibition that will feature local residents as they recreate some of the most memorable and distinctive scenes form this truly unique period of filmmaking. In partnership with Culture Warrington, LiveWire and Warrington Borough Council he plans to produce 12 photographs that will be toured around five libraries across the town. Each week the exhibition will move to the next library and the work will also be accompanied by a special film screening of a classic Film Noir.
These films have been hand-picked to showcase some of the best examples of Film Noir produced throughout the forties and fifties. Each film screening will be accompanied by a free introductory programme featuring an overview of each film plus a brief history of film noir.
